Motorcycle Repair: Is this a supid question?, honda supersport, vacuum tubes

Question
another supid idea? After removing and installing the carbs ten times over a period of 3 months, I removed them again and this time I'm going to seal off all the openings and submerge them in water and blow into the air/ vacuum system to look for bubles!  The hoses between the carbs are loose I think they are leaking so this is my only dumb idea I can come up with if I don't have the $39.00 to purchase a manual!

-----Question-----
80-81 CB750 Honda SuperSport is running on 2 cylinders because there is not enough vacuum ;pressure? AKA perhaps a leak in the #2 caburator and I don't know how to trouble shoot it or at least find the leak! I removed the caburators and cleaned them. I drained the tank and cleaned it. There was a small spring left over after I cleaned the cabutators, but I don't know where it goes. It looks like it goes in the Vacuum module that stops the fuel from entering the caburators when you forget to shut off the petcock valve under the fuel tank, but even if I'm right, I don't remember how it is assembled! Does anyone have a repair book for this model?

It did go in that module and I put it in 3 times before I got it right! Now I'm wondering if perhaps I switched the only 2 Vacuum tubes Inlet ports. 1 Comes out of carubuator #2 and the other one goes into a tee that straddles the #2 and #3 Carbuerator. If I go and swithch the lines and it works I'm going to kick myself in the/ where the / anyway! Help

Hi Ernest.

Well, you should have started this project after you got the repair manual, but since you didn't, here's where you can get the repair manual that you need;
a local dealership or any decent bike shop or www.repairmanuals.com

Start there.

Good luck.  It sounds like you have your work cut out for you.

Answer
Hi Ernest.

DON'T DO THAT.  It won't help you.

 It sounds as if you have some bad o-rings on the carbs.  Get new ones and replace them if you see fuel residue leaking past them.

You really need to find the money to get the manual.  It will have info that I will not have for you (schematics, detailed specs, etc.).

Good luck and ride safe.
