Motorcycle Repair: 1998 Yamaha 660 Grizzly, yamaha 660, fan motor

The cooling fan will not come on. If I wire directly to the battery it runs, so I know the fan motor is ok. What should I check next?

Hi Randall.
 It sounds like your thermosensor is shot.  Replace it.  The thermosensor is that thing that is hard-wired to the radiator, usually on the back lower left side of the radiator.  It isn't hard to replace; just disconnect the wires, unscrew the unit and put the new one in and re-attatch the wires.  But drain the radiator first.
