Motorcycle Repair: 750 V-Twin engine knock, honda aero, aero engine

I bought a new 2007 750 Honda aero. engine has a slight knock.Took it in for first service and was told that was normal.Now has 1200 miles but noise hasn't gotten any worse.If I put it in gear and let out on the clutch a little it goes away.Ive never ridden it hard.Have followed all maintenance and break in rules. Is this normal or do i need to get tough with the dealership. I've only owned inline fours so i don't have a clue about a V-Twin. Any advice would be great. Thanks for your time. Mike

Hi Mike,

Some engine noises are normal. I need to hear the sounds to diagnose the source.

If the shop's techs are certified and experienced techs, I would trust their judgement.

Consider having another Honda shop listen to the sounds as a second opinion.

Visit  the forums at "www.motorcycleusa.com" and post your question there. You'll have to join the forum, but membership is free and they don't spam you. It's a good resource.
