Motorcycle Repair: 1998 FLSTF Front Turn Signal Wiring, bike wire, brown wires

Question
Going off of Ohms law, could I take my old turn signal and measure my resistance through the bulb, via the blue and brown wires and then back at the bike, wire in a resistor that matches the resitance measured? Just a thought.

That is correct, for NOW. I plan to put some on as soon as I find some I like but I may run without for a while.

-----Question-----
I have a 98 Fat boy which has the additional two headlamps in from which houses the turn signals directly under them. I was having a problem with keeping the L side lamp and turn signal tight, they kept loosening so I decided to remove the additional lamp housing in front altogether and go for a cleaner look. The turn signals on each side consist of a blue, black and brown wires as well as a single gray wire going into the lamp housing. I cut each of the 4 wires and taped them off for both the L & R sides. What is happening now is that my turn lamps work, but do not flash, I have to toggle on / off, on /off in order to have my turn signals simulate flashing. Any thoughts besides installing new turn signals off the handle bars.

You say you taped them off, so your not running turn signals on the front of the bike?

Whats happening is you are not pulling enough current with one bulb to make the electronic flasher work. So for now you will have to push the button like you are until you put on the new turn signals.

Answer
I am not sure if that will work or not. I know that is you are not drawing enough currect the turn signal modual will not make the signals flash. If you had them all attached and a bulb burned out they will not flash due to the currect drop. When guys change to custom turn signals with smaller bulbs you have to add a modual to make the draw higher to make the turn modual flash. If it were me, since you are planning on putting the front signals back on, I would just use the button to make them flash
