Motorcycle Repair: 02 vtx 1800, vtx 1800, clutch springs

Question
I just bought this VTX 1800 it is awesome bike with only 6800 miles on it. It performs great, except after you drive it for a while and have to shift gears, it becomes hard to get it down or up into a gear. It almost feels like the sliders are getting stuck. Do you have any ideas.

Hi Lance,

I suspect the clutch plates are warping once up to operating temperatures. If the plates are defective, always replace metal plates, fiber plates, and clutch springs as a set.

Otherwise, I would need to perform a few checks to accurately diagnose the problem.
