Motorcycle Repair: response to spark plug color., center electrode, heat shields

Question
Mike, the plugs are a light beige color on the side electrode outer part.A little darker on the inner side of side elctrode.Insulator tip is part light color and part darker or brown.Center electrode is a little light color on tip.Front plug seems a little darker around seal than back.

Answer
By the color of your plugs you are not running lean, so you dont need to change jets on the carb.
As to your pipes, they turn blue from heat. Its the nature of the beast. There is not much you can do about it except get some heat shields for them which will cover the blue
