I have 1982 honda xr200. it was running fine untill about 2 weeks ago.  Now it wont start I took out the spark plug and it has no spark.  I put it back in the spark plug boot. without it being in the engine and kicked it over and it had no spark  what should I do.

Answer
Hi Tony,

Get a copy of the Service Manual (repair manual) and follow troubleshooting procedures. Perform electrical diagnosis on the charging and ignition systems.

If you're not experienced I recommend having a local tech inspect the problem for you.

Visit Electro Sport's website and follow the "Fault Finding Chart." You'll need a multimeter (VOM) to perform electrical tests.

If the CDI is defective, you won't be able to test it. Check it with a known good unit.
