Motorcycle Repair: Killing Starter Drives, torque starter, starter drives

Question
Have a 1997 Dyna with a two year old RevTech 100 in it.  It has killed 3 starter drives and one starter so far.  Have been told it is an earlier engine with lots of duration on the cams, hence higher compression.  Will a Spyke 1.4 kw do the job ?

Answer
Check your timing. If it is to retarted that will kill them.
Duration on the cams have nothing to do with compression, its how much the space is in the heads. If you are having trouble turning hte motor over then you will need a higher torque starter.
Good luck and happy riding
