Motorcycle Repair: 88 Honda Shadow VT1100C Fuel Tank, shadow vt1100c, fuel mixture

Question
How do you completely drain and remove the rust from this tank.  The fuel has turned and there's gunk in the bottom.  With the lip at the tanks top, how do you ensure that it's clean and all's well with the tank. Winter project and don't want this purchase to break me.

hello the best thing that i have used is muratic acid pour in aboy i gallon of it without fuel in the tank close tank shake the tank let it stand for about 5 minutes completely drain  it out use correct eye and hand protection do not spill on paint . after you drain out the acid use a fuel mixture of 50 to one with 2 cylcle oil and gas por in tank let is stands for about i hour  drain out with fresh gas and yur ready to go refill with just gas .ok.
P.S you can buy this acid at any hardware store. ps please leave feedback on my answer . god bless.
