Motorcycle Repair: FZ700 Carbs - general problems, air leak, wits end

I have an 1987 FZ700 with factory carbs. I am having problems am have taken the carbs off twice and cleaned them. First time spray cleaned second time dipped and sprayed them. The bike will start and run but throttle will give a delayed reaction. The revs stay high for a few seconds and then drop again. Idle never stays in the same place jumping around and I am at wits end now. I can't figure out what is left that can cause this. My only explanation is an air leak possibly, but I don't seem to be able to find one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

hello alex,

first thing i will get you going no problem o.k . i need to know do you have factory pipes are have the pipes been changed,because when the factory pipes are taken off you usually have to re-jet the carbs .e-mail me back o.k while i research but hang in ther well get it ok. im here at my cycle shop all night doing an overhaul o.k
