Motorcycle Repair: trottle response, kawasaki zx9, kawasaki zx

Question
I have a kawasaki zx9, and when Im riding and hit the trottle my bike will rev up and the rpms  rises before my bike actually accellerate. What do you think the problem is?

Answer
I would say that your clutch needs adjusting or replacing. If there is free play at the clutch lever and the clutch isn't hooking up under big throttle openings, then the plates are worn and the clutch is slipping and burning up.
Drain the oil, change the filter. Get a clutch pack kit, new cover gasket and any seals involved in removal of the cover and dive in!
Check Ebay for shop manuals, as I am not sure if any special tools are required for a ZX9 to do the clutch replacement.

Check the web for Kawasaki ZX sites that may have more info about any special procedures or modifications for your bike.
