Motorcycle Repair: over jetted?, gas mileage, carbon buildup

Question
I have a 03 Yamaha 1600 roadstar it is all factory except for a pair of vance & Himes longshots installed by the previous owner.  I found they also had the carburetor jetted out to 180gph.  The bike smells like it is running rich, however it does not smoke and the build up in the carbon buildup in the pipes does not look to bad, but there is some build up.  The bike seldom requires choking to start and if the chock is needed it is only needed for a few minutes in cold weather.  Gas mileage is horrid the bike is only getting about 30mpg.

Answer
hello brett,

they are definitely overjetted usually when you change exhaust from factory to aftermarket you get these problems you have to rejet them i would go down to about a jet setting of 160gph. you shouldnt smell this anymore. if you need more help im here . dont forget to rate my answer we do this for free but we like our ratings. keep riding brother.
