Motorcycle Repair: lt 80 revlimiter, lt 80, exhuast

Question
my sons lt 80 bogs out in straight aways. we have checked all gas issues and believe it to be related to the revlimitor. can this be bypassed or adjusted? he races it in motocrosses. We bored it up to a 90 ish had some clutch work done increased sprocket size upgrade exhuast and carb. still not able to stick with leaders in the 70 90 class any suggestions
thanks

Answer
you probab ly should bypass rev-limitor because if you didi all these things to the bike, surely the limter will kick in sooner because turn more rpm;s fater than you had before by boring it you are making the revlimiter kick in sooner than prior to what you had . but that is why its called a rev limiter , to help not to blow- the engine to mars and back upon high rpms but if you feel he can clutch before overeving i would say why not, disconnect and he should ride with the leaders my son has a jr. 50 he rides with the front.hope this helps you. and keep ridind.
