Motorcycle Repair: 1999 sportster, fuel line, fuel flow

Question
The bike started to not accelerate, in high gear. Then I downshifted and in each successive gear the bike began to sputter and then the bike stalled in 1st gear.  The bike will still start but it does not sound good so I shut it off.  Could it be a blocked fuel line or a carburetor problem?
Thank you!

Answer
First, check to see if you hae a good spark by removing the plug and holding it to the head and cranking it over. If not then check at the battery to make sure you have a good battery.

If you have a good spark then remove the fuel line from the carb and see if you have a good fuel flow. Look down the throat of the carb and twist the throttle, are you getting a shot of fuel?
