Question

Answer
Hi Bev,

I am not sure how mechanically experienced you are, but I'll assume that you will get some help if you can't do these tasks yourself.

Caution: Perform these tasks with the ignition switch in the off postion.

1.  The window switch is mounted on a "bezel" between the front seats.  Pry the front and back of the bezel up off the console.

2.  On the back of the bezel you will see one set of switch wires if your Sunfire is a 2 door and two sets of switch wires if it is a four door.   Remove the wires from the switch by depressing the locking tab while gently pulling the wires away from the switch.

3.  The wires in the switch bundle are color coded.  The wires leading to the driver window are dark blue (up)and dark brown (down).  The wires leading to the passenger front window are light blue (up) and light brown (down).

4.  Use two separate wires attached to a 12 volt battery.  Place the wire attached to the negative side of the battery into the socket of the black wire on your switch wire harness.  Place the wire attached to the positive side of the battery into the socket of the dark blue wire (assuming your driver's window is down).  That should supply power to the window motor and slowly raise the glass.  (Note: if your switch wire bundle has two dark blue wires try one first and then the other if the first one doesn't work.

Let me know if you have any questions.
