Motorcycle Repair: Yamaha raptor 660, clutch lever, clutch plates

Question
once it is running it goes in to first and then it is stuck...the only way to get it out of gear is to switch the motor off. It was working when I first changed the clutch.

Question -
Having a clutch problem with my bike...with the engine off the it goes through the gears with an issue. As soon as you start it it just wont go into gear..with some force it only goes into first but then i also have to hold the brakes as the bike moves even with the clutch lever pressed. I had replaced the full clutch kit recently and wondering what has gone wrong now.
Thank you!

Are you saying it won't shift at all once you are running or it is just hard to get into first?

Also, did it work at all with the new clutch? was it like this before the new clutch?

Please provide more info.

Anthony

Answer
I would take a look at the clutch first.  Pull the engine cover, the clutch cover, and the springs, then inspect the clutch plates, boss, and basket for any unusual damage.

Lets start with that before assuming anything deeper such as shift forks, etc..
