Motorcycle Repair: adjustment settings 4 carbs, honda v45 magna, screw out

Question
i have a 750 honda v45 magna 83 and i have cleaned out the carbs and have it working perfect at hi r.p.m.'s . but  coming down in speed in gear with no throttle, when i go to accelerate, for a small moment the bike breaks up taking a second or so to get going properly. this second could happen when i have to get out of some idiot's way on the steet, so i need to fix it. if you dont know wht the proper adjustments are{such as how many turns on the screws 4 each carb} maybe you could steer me in the right direction. thanks ed @ honested01@msn.com

Answer
Ok, first of all, Did u seperate the carbs from the rail?  In other words, Did u have the carbs in 4 seperate intities?  If not, then the proper adjustment for your screws are as follows:  Main screw = Tighten all the way till it stops (no further, and use no force!)then adjust the screw out 2 whole turns.  Secondary screw = Tighten all the way till it stops (no further, and use no force!) then adjust out 1.5.  This is your basic setting and u should b able to tune it from there.  But if u seperated the carbs u r experiencing a vaccumm issue that can only b resolved with "mercury gauges".
