Motorcycle Repair: Rebuiling my Harley, soft tail frame, tire brakes

Question
I recently had a gal knock me off my bike using her car.  About took my life.  As a result, I'm now trying to rebuild them.  (both my life and the bike)  The bike is an 06 FXSTSI with a 1450 cc engine.  Among other things I need a Soft Tail frame including the swing-arm, Springer front end, engine housing, wheel, tire, brakes, foot controls...etc.  I'm looking for a place to buy these parts and really don't know where to start.  Do I try to stay with the local dealer, buy on-line, catalogue, or some other?
Additionally, if you have some tips or advice about parts, proceedures, do's, don'ts, ect.., I'm a very good listener.

Thank you...really.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
The first thing you will need is a repair manual to do the work. If youa re not familuer with totally rebuilding a bike from the ground up, you might want to leave it to a shop.
As you look for parts check different sources for prices. Go with the best prices.
Good luck and happy riding
