Motorcycle Repair: Starter whirs but doesnt crank the engine, starter solenoid, jumper wire

98 wide glide with 20,000 miles - this started a while back where the starter would intermittantly not engage and crank the engine but it would eventually catch and crank. Now it will not crank the engine at all it just whirrs when I push the starter button.

Run a hot jumper wire to the post of the starter where the starter relay wire is. Does it still just spin? If turns over then the relay is bad. If not then the somthing is wrong with the starter jackshaft or the starter solenoid is bad
