Motorcycle Repair: clutch adjustment on 85 sportster, clutch adjustment, clutch cable

i cant seem to find anywhere online how to adjust the clutch on my 85 sportster can you help me?

Holding the bike upright, remove the clutch cover. Loosen the clutch cable so you have some slack in it. Behind the clutch cover you will find a spring and a step nut. remove them. turn the clutch adjuster outward and then inward just until it bottoms and then reinstall the stepnut, spring and cover. adjust the clutch cable so you have about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever and your good to go.
