Motorcycle Repair: LOw hp&tq on 95, roller rockers, propipe

Question
I have a 2005 duece with a 95" big bore kit,Dan Baisley heads with 22222222' intake valves,10.8 comp, woods tw9bg cams roller rockers,VH Propipe with 3.37 primary gearing. The bike was tuned using SE race tuner by the head instructor at MMI HD school in Orlando fla. The build was done by the instructor also. He has done many of these builds with 44mm carbs and got 110 hp &110 Tq.With my build we only got 102hp& 101 Tq,the throttle body was stock so it was bored to 45mm,no increase in tq& hp. Do you think the the throttle body is too small? I am getting a lot of different opinions, some say no,some say go to 48mm and some say go to 57mm,what doyou think? Patrick

Answer
When you are trying to increase horsepower with all the different components you have used its pretty much trial and error. It sounds like the guy who did the work knows what he is doing, so first I would check with him. Incresing the carb size might give you more fuel to the motor, but it might also hinder you. It might cause you to get to much fuel and do just the opposite of what you re trying to do. Your best bet is to, since you already have dyno numbers, is go to a bigger carb and do another dyno to see where you stand.
Good luck and happy riding
