Motorcycle Repair: miss, intermediate jet, hi4


Question
It started a while ago. I increased and decreased the main jet on the carb and advanced the timing (trimpot on ign)and no change. At 3000  rpm it starts to haul no miss. I will try the intermediate jet and accelerator pump?

hi, i have an evo with S&S carb and Craine HI4 ign. At low rpm when i go to WOT i get a miss through the pipes and as the rpm's go up it disappears and the bike really hauls, any ideas? thanx

At 3000 RPM you are still probably running on the intermediate jet in hte carb.You can try going one jet bigger on the intermediate jet. Also, make sure the pump is closed as far as possible. You only want enough gas to be pumped to keep the bike from missing on a hard accereration. Opening it to far will just waste gas and give you a hesitation.
