Motorcycle Repair: 1969 cl 175 gas tank assembley, power jets, brain cells

i will be istalling a gas tank on my 1969 cl 175
(when i find one)there are 2 lines out of the petcock but there are 2 lines in (top and bottom)
on each carb,which one do i connect to
from petcock

Rob, you are testing my arcane knowledge of these old things, aren't you? :>)  Nothing like flexing the brain cells a bit, though!

Early style CL175K0 carbs had what were called "power jets," that enrichened the mixture at part throttle and high speed. Honda used the system, on and off, with CB92s, CA95s, CB72s and I think just the early CL175s. They only used them for the first 1619 CL175K0 bikes produced, then dropped the system in favor of "regular" carburetors, with a single main jet.

The lower fuel fittings, on top of the float bowl chambers are for the petcock fuel lines. The high-mounted, rear-facing connectors are for little plastic tubes that connect to some fittings on the air cleaners, supplying a clean source of air for the power jet system.
