Motorcycle Repair: 1985 susuki ignitor, stator coils, eric fowler

I have a 1985 susuki gs550L and it has no spark. I have been told that it is probably the ignitor box.  Is there any way to check any of the items in the electrical chain?  Like ignitor, stator, coils and signal generator?  What do you think and what do you suggest?  Please let me know when you have the time.  Thank you,

The site will link you to "www.electrosport.com" to use Electro Sport's "Fault Finding Chart."

Get a copy of the service manual.

Testing the CDI is done by replacing the suspected defective CDI with a known good working unit.

The L model's CDI's were prone to failure.
