Motorcycle Repair: rear motorcycle tire, axle adjusters, motorcycle tire

Question
How do you remove the rear wheel on a 2004 FXSTBI? It cheaper to get a tire done when the wheel is off the bike.  

Answer
First thing you need is a jack to lift the bike. Once you have the rear tire just touching the ground remove the  axle nut and slide the axle out. Push the tire foward and remove the belt from the rear sprocket. Jack the bike up until you can get the tire out. Do everything in reverse order. You will probably need to open the brake pads up to get the caliber over the disk. you can use a screw driver to pry them open. make sure you get the axle back through the axle adjusters
