Motorcycle Repair: 2005 Fat Boy- Primary Chain Noise when hot, good luck, tension

I have a 2005 Fat Boy 1450cc with 1700 miles on it. After riding for about 45 minutes sounds like the primary chain looses tension and is rubbing the cover. How can I inspect cover for damage and check tension? How do I adjust tension?

On the primary you will see an inspection cover in the middle. Stand the bike up straight and remove the cover. You will see the chain. It should have about a 1/2 inch flex cold. To adjust it there is a nut in the center where the pad is. Loosen it and the adjuster will slide up or down.
