Motorcycle Repair: 1974 sportster, wheel bearings, breather tube

Question
I have a 1974 sportster 1000, it has been sitting for 2 years...it has a quickbob tank, S&S carborator, the shifter and break are reversed. when i did finaly get it started it blew oil out of the breather tube, is this normal after it has sat for so long? or is there oil pump isues or something else causing this? And other than general maintence is there anything else i should be concerned about.

Answer
After sitting that long you get some weeping of oil into the bottom end through the oil pump. When you start the bike the oil pump cant pump it out fast enough so it comes out the breather tube. I doenst hurt anything, just makes a mess.
Sitting for that long a time I woudl check the wheel bearings to make sure they are ok
Good luck and happy riding
