Motorcycle Repair: water pump Yamaha YZ450F 2003, yamaha yz450f, weep hole

I have a small hole in the bottom of my water pump. It is a machined hole from the factory. Water is coming out steady flow.

What is this hole water is coming from and how do I stop this.

Hi Harold,

There's no question here, but I think I know what you mean.

The hole you've described is a weep hole. It's there to allow a leak to indicate the water pump seal is failing or has failed.

Get a copy of the service (repair) manual and learn about repairing and maintaining your YZ. It's the best money you'll spend on your YZ. BTW... nice ride.
