Motorcycle Repair: oil pump, oil pump, keyway

leaky oil pump on a 1982 flt. purchased the new gaskets. when you take it apart to put in the gaskets are there any special way that it goes back together or is there a special adjustment that I may need a manual for?

There are no adjustments to the oil pump. When you take the outside cover off you will find the gears behind it. Both the pump gear and the return gear are on a keyway, so make sure you get it in. Also, on the oil pump shaft there is a clip that has to be removed to pull the oil pump body off. Dont reuse the clip, get a new one.
