Motorcycle Repair: iron head clutch, clutch replacement, clutch plates

Question
clutch is slipping on my 82 iron head sportster, cannot seem to get proper adjustment. clutch barley disengages when lever is pulled all the way in. i let clutch all the way out and it does not seem to bad as slippage goes until i giver then it seems like the motor revs more than the bike is moving. clutch replacement tips would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
It sounds like its time for new clutch plates and disks. Its pretty cut and dry procedure. Do you have a service manual to follow? If not I would suggest getting one. You wil find step by step instructions in it.
For me to tell you how to do it on here would take forever and alot of typing
Good luck and happy riding
