Motorcycle Repair: Motorcycle dies when i accelerate, check air filter, vacuum hoses

Question
Hey, after some hard riding like close to redline etc my yam XT225(95) model developed a weird problem.. All was working very well then all of a suden out of no where it started to cough and splutter... I killed the bike and left it to kool for a good 30min, I started the bike fine, (started instantly) as always. The problem is that when i rev a bit past idel speed (just enough to get the bike rolling it looses RPM straight away, when i pull the clutch back in it idels fine, if i just keep accelerating it just dies, it wont take any load when i was walking it bak from where i was riding (2km) i could only move at idleling speed and had to get of and run beside coz wouldnt pull me up a small hill in 1st, cant get enough revs/speed to move into 2nd will just die. i cheacked the fuel to the carby thats all fine and fresh fuel as aweays (bike used daily for commuting), any help would be greatly appreciated, even if u could give me a idea as to what it might be causing this bogging at any rpm past idle(idles and starts fine will be ok a little past idleing ie 2000rpm or so then just sounds like its been starved of fuel)... thx heaps angus :

Answer
Hi Angus,

Check cylinder compression. If necessary, perform a leak-down test.

Check air filter and intake ducts for obstructions. Clean or replace air filter accordingly.

Check fuel tank and carburetor for pinched or collapsed fuel or vacuum hoses.

Check spark plug condition. Clean or replace accordingly. The plug should appear dry and light shades of brown.
