Motorcycle Repair: Suzki gs1000L TRIKE starter, bike bandit, starter clutch

Question
Hi, I have a Suzuki GS1000L which has been triked with a bmw back axel. The bike was a 1981 molel which I believe came from The States.

The problem is the electric starter which every so often whizzes over without turning the engine. Putting it into gear and rocking the trike useually puts this right but it is a bit heavy and if you stall it on an incline it can be awkward.

I have tried to remove the dynamo pulley which is in front of the starter clutch, but had no joy. The manual I have implys it can be a bit of a pig LOL.

Can you offer any advice, on freeing the starter clutch up?

One thing I thought was is it possible to fit a kick start to this engine, or perhaps adapt one from say the GS850
which I think had a combo set up.

Many thanks for your help.

Ste.
