Motorcycle Repair: I realy want to get a little bit more out of my moter can you help, yamaha dt175, piston kit

I picked up a 1993 Yamaha DT175 i have been slowly restoring it but i want to get more power out of this little 2 stroke. i have asked some friends about differnt mods i could do but i havent realy wanted to tinkier about with it until i know wot i am doing can you please tell me some moderfacations i could do to help

A:   Installing a larger bore piston kit, a defuser (pipe), less restrictive air filter, performance reed valves, cylinder port porting, and race fuel mix will increase performance.  

Get a copy of the "Two Stroke Tuner's Handbook" for more thorough details.
