Motorcycle Repair: Correct oil for Suzuki RM 80 Crankcase, suzuki rm 80, clutch springs

Question
I just need to know the best oil to use in the crankcase of a 1987 Suzuki RM 80. My stepson neglected to check his oil levels and continued to ride the bike with just drops of oil in the crankcase, now the bike wants to move with the clutch lever pulled in. There is hardly any adjustment left on the cable, so I'm thinking his clutch is fried.

Answer
The clutch may be cooked. Disasemble and inspect plates for evidence of warping. Metal plates will show dis-coleration.

If defective, replace metal plates, fiber plates, and clutch springs as a set. There are no exceptions.

Use a brand name 10w40 non-synthetic for the transmission.

Respectfully,
