Motorcycle Repair: Upgraded grips-now battery dead & wiring problems, bike check, volt meter

HD 2003 Ultra Classic- I upgraded to heated grips with new housing etc. and now have probelms that I never had since doing this. The dealer that installed the grips is blaming on everything else but possibly their screw up.
We stopped for gas after picking up the bike and the battery was completetd dead & theyre also saying that there is wiring problems of course not related to their work.  All I know is this bike has run like a champ since the day I got it.
Can you offer any help or suggestions?

First thing I would do is charge the battery and start the bike. Check at the battery, with a volt meter, and see what voltage you are running. At 2000 RPM you should be at 13.5 to 14 volts. If not then you have a problem with the charging system.
If it is then you might have a short somewhere, probably where they worked on the wiring
