Classic/Antique Car Repair: performance, chevrolet ssr, 76 corvette

Question
Hello Roger,
2 questions.
1- I have a 1965 L-76 corvette motor. Is there anything unique about that particular engine?
2- A friend wants to enhance his semi-new Chevrolet SSR, LS2.6
What are your thoughts on: the "chip", headers with duel exhaust (it came with a "Y" pipe. And a supercharger.
What other THINGS will need to be done, if he opts for any of these possibilities? Also, any other ideas for performance enhancements? Will the suspension need attention with any beef up?
thanks
loren

Answer
AS FAR AS THE NO#S THE BEST WAY TO FIND OUT EVERYTHING IS TO GO TO THE LIBRARY AND LOOK IN THE TM CHEVY BOOK AS IT WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE NOs. AND MEANINGS AS A LOT OF THEM JUST MEAN V-8 WITH A QUADRAJET  OR V-8 WITH A SPL.CAMSHAFT AND OTHER WORK SUCH AS HEADS AND THAT MOST ALL HAVE A DIFFERANCE IN H.P. AS FAR AS HEADERS= GO THERE = AS THERE WASNOT A CAR THAT I DID NOT HAVE THEM ON AS THAY DO GIVE TOU A BIG BOOST IN POWER.AS FAR AS SUSPENSION FIRST TRY IT OUT THAN IF IT IS NOT WHAT YOU LIKE THAN GET READY TO GET A LIL DIRTY SO AS FAR AS SPRINGS GO WAIT AND SEE. THERE  ARE A LOT OF THINGS YOU CAN DO, PISTONS, CRANK CUT, NEW CAM,MILL THE HEADS, H.D. VALVES.ALUMIN INTAKE A REAL LOT MORE, BUT DO A LIL AT A TIME SO YOU CAN FEEL THE DIFFERANCE. YOU WILL LIKE IT BETTER THAT  WAY AND SO WILL YOUR POCKET BOOK. HEA KEEP ME POSTED LET ME KNOW OK  ........
