Question
Mr. Chris i have a 89 kawasaki zx750 and i just recently got it out
of the shop for old seals and a few other problems which led to oil
leak but they were fixed. however the problem now is i have a LOT
of oil coming from somewhere on the left bottom side of the bike
but i dont know exactly what is and i dont want to spend $700
again to fix it again. the bike runs fine and i cleaned it several
times with gunk remover to track the leak but its running down one
spot somewhere towards my gear shifter area can u please help me
on what to do?

Answer
Hi Jordan.

I have two words for you.  Baby powder.

That's right; baby powder.  It's an old mechanics trick and here's what you do and how it works;

Clean the bike completely and make sure that it is completely dry.  The entire engine should be clean and dry.

Now is the baby powder part.

Sprinkle baby powder, liberally over the engine in the suspected area.  Basically, you will cover almost half the engine with it.

Then run the bike and see where the baby powder darkens with fluid.  It will basically become a road map to your oil leak.

Good luck and ride safe.
