Motorcycle Repair: fireblade starting probs, cold surfaces, ambient temperatures

hi i have a 1995 fireblade the problem is that the colder it is the bike wont start with choke on i have to start bike without choke and no throttle and then put the choke on to keep it running once running the bike runs fine it is fitted with a d+d end can the  bike is an rrs any advice greatly appreciated. cheers dave

Hi Dave,

I suspect the symptoms are related to how the engine's cold surfaces reacts with the air/fuel mixtures.

When weather is cold, engine surfaces at ambient temperatures, fuel doesn't atomize well until the engine is warmed. This may cause the engine to become sensitive or cold natured during starting.

Otherwise, the air/fuel mitures may need tuned a bit to compensate for the aftermarket pipe.
