Motorcycle Repair: Basic Customizing, kawasaki vulcan 2000, cap screw

Question
I have owned my Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 for one year.  Until now, I have been mostly at the mercy of dealerships for basic maintenance and customizing.  At this point I only want to replace the stock throttle control and left side hand grip but I don't know how to remove them.  I assume the end caps come off or there is a cap screw beneath the rubber grip.  Can you advise me?  Thank you, Joe Reasons.

Answer
Hi Joe,

I encourage home maintenance and repairs. However, mistakes are expensive to correct.

Get a copy of the Service Manual and how to perform repairs and maintenance procedures. Manual have illustrated procedures for all repairs. It will pay for itself with the first work performed at home. $30 will be the best investment into your Vulcan.
