Motorcycle Repair: Honda Nighthawk 250, gas starvation, honda nighthawk 250, reseal

Question
Just pulled my 250 out of the shed...it went in running fine.  To get it home I had to hold the choke out (it would not stay out by itself) and go in 1st/2nd.  Try to rev and it starves and dies.  Air filter is clear...does it with filter out.  Stored with clean gas, still good.

Answer
Hi Greg.

Every year we hear from riders who store their bikes for the winter and it is almost always the same.

It doesn't matter how clean the fuel was that you had in the system.  You had fuel in the fuel system and some of it turned to varnish from sitting so long and now you need to clean the carbs, replace the fuel line and reseal (or clean, which is a long proceedure) the tank.

After all that is done, the bike should run like before.

Good luck and ride safe.
