QuestionMy back brake locks on when I brake, hit the pedal and it breaks free, took it all apart, rebuilt,new seals,piston etc,cleaned and polished all possible areas of contact even took it to a bike shop, still have problem, big problem is, my wife will not come with me until I fix it, this bike was in a accedent but only front end, 90 Softail, put 16 centre line wheel on front, fat boy fender, O when I put it on stand and duplicate, seems there is a light squeal, for want of a better word when it locks, thanks a million, seems quite a few HD have this problem, but nobody seems to have the answer, a mechanic from a certain bike shop said try you, pretty good eh! I live 60 miles North of Toronto in Canada, I am a licensed tool and diemaker,can usualy fix it But!
AnswerSounds like your master cylinder is hanging up. The return hole might be plugged. You can get a rebuild kit for the master cylinder, but I usually recommend just replacing it. When you try to rebuild it alot of times it leaks.
