Motorcycle Repair: 1984 v-65 magna, motorcycle salvage yards, coolant hoses

chris i have a 1984 V-65 magna 1100cc with 38000 miles on it. i havent riden the bike since 2001,well it has been sitting since i moved to florida.my Q:can i still get parts for this bike ,and do you know of a good mechanic in florida that isnt going to rake me over the coles . thanks tim

Hi Tim.

Well, you may be in a little luck.  Some parts are still available for the V65 (I own one, so I know).  There are a few that are no longer available (some of the coolant hoses, for example).  However, you can still find some parts through motorcycle salvage yards.

As far as mechanics, I live in the Fort Lauderdale area, so the only mechanics that I know are in this area.  If you are in this area, then I recommend Bob D'Angelo, The Bike Doctor (954-584-7029).  He's in Fort Lauderdale and I have known him since 1988.  He's the best that I have known or used in over 25 years of riding.  The down side of using him is that he is a 1 man shop and is only open M-F 10am - 6pm.  His weekends are spent racing.  He won't rape you on the repair costs, either.
