Motorcycle Repair: Electrical problem, ninja 250, fuse box

Question
chris,
I recently purchased a 2000 Ninja 250 that I have been cleaning up over the last couple of weeks because it has been sitting for a couple of years.  I just got it started a couple of days ago after doing all the right things. (Carb, plugs, filter, oil)  Well after I got it running for a while yesterday and everything seem to be fine.  I turned it off and walked away only needing a chain to install.  This morning I got up to go start it again and got nothing.  No lights, horn anything coming on.  I checked the 30A fuse next to the fuse box and that is o.k. The battery is good.  What am I missing?  This bike was running great yesterday.  Thanks for your response.

Answer
Hi Greg.

The fuse could look good and still be bad.  There could also be an issue with the fuse connection being corroded a little or dirty.  There could also be issues with the ignition switch or the wiring.

Start with that and see what you find.

Good luck and ride safe.
