Motorcycle Repair: starting fluid, falcon, good luck

I was just wondering if it's bad to use starting fluid to get a 2 stoke engine started. I have a moped that hasnt been started in about a year and i want to sell it but i cant get it started. I heard that you should use starting fluid on a 2 stoke. Whats your opinion.

Hi Nic.

Starting fluid is nothing more than ether.  It will not harm the bike, but if that is the only way to get the motor started, then there are other issues that need attention before you try to sell the moped.  Fixing them will also improve the rsale value of the bike, even if only a bit.....it is only a moped, after all.
