QuestionYou stated custom bikes, so I hope you can help. First the symptoms, than what has already been replaced. Bike is 2005 Saxon Firestorm prostreet chopper. S&S 96 motor 6 speed. After first 10 min. of operation, the ditigal gauge will only display parts of each speedo number. The bike will seem to run well but the dash gauge numbers just dont display completely. "Only at 70mph or better" when the dash is not working correctly,.. when I switch off the bright lights,.. the engine cuts out. But only for a moment. After 15 to 20 min. all is well and the everything works great until a gas stop at 150 miles,... and then the same thing happens again but for only 5 to 10 mins. of riding.
O.K. Now for what has been replaced,... the Saxon dealer has replaced the Stator, voltage regulator and the ? brain box ? (tells the turn signals to cancel, etc.). I have also checked my battery connections and body ground. All seems to be good. Bike now has only 1000 miles on it.

AnswerYou sound like you have two different problems. First the speedo. You sound like you either have a bad speedo or a bad pickup.
As the shorting out. Sounds like either the switch is bad or there is a short in the handlebar wiring.
Since the bike is new I would keep on the dealer until he either gets it fixed or gives your money back.
