Motorcycle Repair: cam adjustment covers, screw driver, gs 650

   One more question for the '81 GS 650 G. I can see in the maintenance manual how to adjust the cam clearances for all 4 intake/exhaust valves but it gives no mention of how to take off the round chrome covers. There is an access port near the bottom but what, stick a screw driver in there? I can't tell. What I need to know is does this require a special tool? Thanks.

Hi Bill.

If I recall correctly, the access port covers have a nut built into each of them.  They remove just like any nut or bolt, as I recall, with either a normal wrench or possibly an Allen key.
