Motorcycle Repair: Low Compression, suzuki gsx r 600, gsx r 600

I am interested in buying another bike to mess around with but the guy says the engine has low cylinder compression.  What will this compression problem need to get repaired? any idea on costs?  The bike is a 92 Suzuki gsx-r 600 w/ 11000 miles and the engine is not locked up.   Thanks

Hi Riley,

Low compression may be one or more of the following: worn cylinders, pistons, piston rings, cylinder head or base gaskets, valves, or other.

Replacing defective parts may cost $300 to $1000 plus as much for labor.
