Motorcycle Repair: 1997 Suzuki Intruder 800 Running on back cylinder only, suzuki intruder 800, electrical diagnosis

Question
My bike started spitting and sputtering a little bit so i figured I needed to replace my plugs.  Then it died on me and started acting like the battery was getting weak so I charged it and it would run fine for about five minutes and then it would start to spit and sputter again and then it would not start till I charged it. I started it this morning and let it idle.  While it was idleing I noticed it dropped to one cylinder.  I did not think much about it cause I was going to pick up my new plugs and battery.  Once I replaced them it still only runns on the back cylinder.  I checked the plugs and they are firing strong, coils hitting hard, wires great shape, etc... All are fine.  I am getting gas in both cylinders also. I don't know what else to look for. Please help.

Answer
Hi Toby,

Get a copy of the service manual and learn about troubleshooting.

Perform electrical diagnosis on the ignition and charging systems.

Visit "www.electrosport.com" and follow their "Fault Finding Chart" under Support section.
