Motorcycle Repair: Valves, vstar 1100, maintainence

I have a 2001 VStar 1100 Classic.  It has 13000 miles on it.  Does it need to have the valves adjusted yet?

Hi Rick.

If the bike has not had it's break-in tune-up, then it is way overdue.  However, if the bike has been getting it's proper maintainence during the proper intervals, then you should be good for another 37,000 miles.  If you are truely concerned, then refer to the repair manual (get one if you don't have one) for any and all specs, maintainence intervals, etc., which will also be very handy for you if you do your own repairs and maintainance.
