Motorcycle Repair: loud rattling noise and bad vibration, metal particles, accurate diagnosis

Question
my email address is samuel.feedback40@hotmail.com.
My bike is a Vulcan Supermoto 125. I was told that it is a Kawasaki. The year is 2004.

My problem is my bike is shuddering violently, making very loud rattling noise. It started about 2months ago, when the bike started rattling slightly from the engine, near where the front sprocket is, and the chain was rattling violently at high revs. I replaced the chain and front sprocket and it hasnt helped. Over the past few days it has got much worse. It vibrates a little on the stand, at low revs it isnt too bad but at high revs it rattles violently, which seems to be coming from the lower part of the engine.
Just wondering if you can help? I would really appreciate any information no matter how little.

Thank you

Samuel.

Answer
Hi Samuel,

Unfortunately, I need to inspect the problem for accurate diagnosis.

I recommend that you drain the engine oil and inspect oil for evidence of metal particles and other contamination. If parts inside the engine are defective, the oil ususally has excessive metal particles.

Get a copy of the service manual. Review troubleshooting procedures.

It's too difficult for me to text all the procedures and measurements, etc... here.
